One day, while studying for finals, I decided to go to Borders instead, because you have to pay a service fee to use Starbucks internet. I had a Seattles Best cup of coffee, and it was quite tasty. In fact, it was very similar to Pikes. The only difference I could really see, or in this case realize was the atmosphere I was in while drinking. Starbucks, an "upscale" professionals lounge that contains friendly associates and many drinking options. Most tables are always taken, but it is a place where coffee and socialization is popular. Borders, Seattles Best, is a book store. End of Story. If you want to get some studying done, while not having to pay a fine to use the internet service, that's where your needs will get met. Decent coffee, and books that will invite your creative side in, the minute you walk through the doors. I've come to the conclusion that your mood and what needs to get accomplished are really the only two differences in a place like Starbucks versus a book store.

Starbucks or not?
I started enjoying the taste of coffee when I actually wanted to become an adult. It was probably around the age of 17 were I was determined to look like all the other professionals who go to Starbucks and get coffee. My first drink was a Skinny Vanilla Latte, because I knew I wanted to start off at least being calorie conscious in the coffee world. As my taste buds begin to take pleasure in coffee, I switched from my latte to the Pikes Place, Starbucks's standard everyday brewing coffee. This choice kept my enjoyment for at least a year. Putting a pack of Splenda sugar, always being conscious, and fat free milk. I felt older now that I not only drank coffee, but went to Starbucks to get it. After a year, I realized there were several kinds of bold coffee besides Pikes. Verona, Sumatra, Estima etc. I was hooked after that. No longer did I enjoy the "standard" coffee choice, but I was on to newer and better things, like Sumatra.
